1st Day of School

Today was our little man's 1st day of school(K4). He was excited and wasn't upset at all when Chuck and I left the classroom. There are only 9 other kids in his class (9 boys and 1 girl - poor thing). It's a very exciting day - but way too soon.

California Dreamin'

We took a trip to California in May for our nephew's High School graduation. This was Rhett's first real trip since we returned home from Vietnam and we all had a great time! What a relaxing vacation! We can't wait to go back. Rhett stayed in the pool as much as possible - he took breaks to eat, sleep and attend graduation functions. Here a some pictures from the trip.

It's about time!

I know it's been forever since I have added some updated photos. Rhett is doing really well. He's learning in leaps and bounds now. His English is really coming along. Easter was very fun - he loved hunting for Easter eggs! We had our 3rd and final post placement meeting with our social worker this week and we are excited to be moving along in the process.

1st Swimming Lesson and Soccer Practice

Last week we had our first swimming lesson and our first soccer practice. He liked both, but swimming is his favorite! He loves Ms. Jessica, his teacher. He showed great improvement from the 1st lesson to the 2nd. He actually loosened his grip around her neck :) Soccer was fun too! It is so cute watching those little guys and girls run around and dribble the ball!

1st happy holiday season

We had a great first Christmas as a family of three. Rhett really seemed to enjoy his 1st Christmas season and he got a ton of presents from family and friends. He may have been slightly overwhelmed on Christmas morning - but that didn't stop him from digging right in to his presents. Unfortunately, he got pretty sick a few days after Christmas, so he spent most of New Year's Eve in bed. He had a pretty tough case of bronchitis, but he is much better now. Update...

It's been a while since I updated the blog, so here it is...Rhett loved his first Thanksgiving - we had a house full. He turned 4 on December 2nd and had a ton of friends over - they played will all of his toys and enjoyed the jupiter jump in the backyard. I think he was a little overwhelmed by all the presents he got, but he has really enjoyed them. Here are some recent photos, including some from his birthday.
